Services for Couples

I help couples struggling with infidelity, broken trust, communication problems, emotional disconnection, or loss of sexual intimacy understand the patterns affecting their relationship, communicate differently, and work toward rebuilding trust and connection.

Who I Commonly Work With

I often work with couples who have built full, successful lives together but feel increasingly disconnected in their relationship.

Many are professionals, leaders, business owners, parents, or people in high-responsibility roles balancing demanding careers, children, financial responsibilities, and busy schedules. From the outside, their life may look stable and successful. Behind closed doors, their relationship may feel lonely, tense, disconnected, or uncertain.

I commonly work with couples who:

  • Are trying to understand what happened after infidelity, an affair, or another breach of trust

  • Keep having the same arguments without resolving anything

  • Struggle to communicate without becoming defensive, critical, angry, or shutting down

  • Feel misunderstood or unheard by their partner

  • Have gradually grown apart after years together

  • Feel more like roommates, co-parents, or business partners than romantic partners

  • Have little or no sex life

  • Feel emotionally or physically disconnected

  • Struggle with differences in desire for sex or affection

  • Miss the closeness and intimacy they once had

  • Function well in other areas of life but can't seem to solve the problems in their relationship

  • Aren't sure whether they want to stay together and want help gaining clarity

I also work individually with adults experiencing relationship difficulties, including when their partner is unwilling or not ready to participate in couples counseling.

Services I Offer

Couples Counseling

I provide online couples counseling for infidelity and betrayal, broken trust, recurring conflict, communication problems, emotional disconnection, and loss of physical or sexual intimacy.

My approach is warm, direct, practical, and engaged. I am a Certified Couple Therapy Informed Provider (CCTIP) and am trained in the Gottman Method. I draw from several approaches depending on the needs of each couple:

  • Gottman Method: Helps couples improve communication, manage conflict more effectively, and strengthen friendship, intimacy, and connection.

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT): Helps couples understand the emotions and attachment needs underneath recurring conflicts and emotional disconnection.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Helps identify and change thoughts and behavior patterns that contribute to conflict, distress, and ineffective communication.

  • Solution-Focused Therapy: Helps couples identify strengths, clarify what they want to change, and develop practical steps toward improving their relationship.

I use these approaches flexibly rather than applying one method to every couple, helping you better understand your relationship patterns and create meaningful, practical change.

Infidelity & Betrayal

If an affair or other betrayal has shaken your relationship, counseling can provide a place to understand what happened, address the impact on both partners, and determine what rebuilding trust would require.

You don't have to know whether you want to stay together before beginning this work.

Communication, Disconnection & Intimacy

I also work with couples who haven't experienced one defining crisis but have gradually become disconnected. You may communicate poorly, repeat the same conflicts, feel more like roommates, or have little emotional or sexual intimacy left.

Using principles from Gottman, EFT (emotionally focused therapy), CBT (cognitive-behavioral therapy), and Solution-Focused Therapy, we can identify the patterns maintaining the distance and work toward healthier communication, greater understanding, and renewed connection.

Individual Relationship Counseling

If your partner doesn't want to participate in couples counseling, you can still work with me individually.

Individual therapy can help you understand your relationship, recognize your own patterns and needs, cope with relationship distress or infidelity, and gain clarity about decisions you may be facing.

Individual Therapy for Anxiety & Perfectionism

Anxiety and perfectionism are another primary specialty in my practice. I work individually with women experiencing anxiety, perfectionism, overthinking, self-criticism, high expectations, difficulty letting go of control, and the pressure to keep everything together.

When This Work Is a Good Fit

This work is often a good fit for couples who recognize that something in their relationship needs to change, even if they don't yet agree about what that change should be.

You may be a good fit if you want a therapist who is warm and supportive while also direct, practical, and willing to address difficult issues.

I often work well with couples who are accustomed to solving problems and handling significant responsibilities but have discovered that their usual problem-solving skills aren't working in their relationship.

You may already have insight into what's happening but find yourselves repeating the same patterns anyway. Couples counseling can help you understand what is happening underneath those patterns and develop different ways of communicating and responding to each other.

If infidelity has occurred, you do not need to know whether you want to stay together before beginning counseling. We can work on understanding what happened, addressing the impact of the betrayal, and gaining clarity about what each of you wants.

An ongoing affair does not automatically prevent us from beginning counseling. We can address what is currently happening in the relationship and determine an appropriate path forward.

If your partner is unwilling or not ready to participate in couples counseling, you can still work with me individually. Individual therapy can help you understand your relationship, your own patterns and needs, and the decisions you may be facing.

When This May Not Be the Best Fit

My practice may not be the best fit if you are looking for therapy for a child, need emergency or crisis-level care, or need support that is available on demand.

I work with adults and couples and do not provide therapy for children.

I do not provide emergency services and am not available 24/7. Clients are seen by appointment only. If you need immediate or emergency assistance, please use appropriate local emergency or crisis services rather than waiting for a therapy appointment or response from me.

Clients must be sober and able to participate meaningfully during sessions. If alcohol or other substance use is interfering with your ability to participate safely or effectively in therapy, we can discuss whether additional or alternative services may be appropriate.

For couples, concerns involving safety, violence, intimidation, or coercive behavior may require additional assessment to determine whether couples counseling together is an appropriate format. In some circumstances, I may recommend individual therapy, in-person services, victim-support resources, or another level of care.
